• ArtFest in the West

  • ArtFest in the West is an annual fundraiser for and celebration of student arts programs in the six Western Albemarle County public schools: Brownsville, Crozet, Meriwether Lewis and Murray Elementary Schools, Henley Middle School and Western Albemarle High School (WAHS).  The event is a collaboration between Arts in Western Education, a non-profit organization, and the Fine Arts Departments of these six Albemarle County public schools, with sustaining support from key business sponsors.

ArtFest showcases student artists and their work in vocal and instrumental music, drama, creative writing, and fine art and photography, demonstrating the value of the arts as an integral part of public education.

The event raises vital funds to support arts education, primarily through the support of local businesses that sponsor the event, donate to the silent auction and donate food.  There is no entrance fee for this family-friendly event, which also features children's activities.  Those attending may expect to enjoy elementary visual arts displays and music performance, as well as performances by the Henley Middle School jazz band and choir, the Western Albemarle High School jazz band, choir and orchestra as well as a preview of the WAHS musical.  It's a fantastic night celebrating student arts and raising funds to support them.

Friday, February 22, 2019, from 6-9pm in the WAHS cafeteria.

Snow date is Fri, March 8.
